Starting in the middle of the 19th century, Davos in the Canton of Grisons started becoming internationally famous as a climatic health resort and as winter sports destination. Writer Thomas Mann made Davos world famous in 1924 with his novel "Der Zauberberg" (The Magic Mountain), which was later adapted to film. Today, Davos invite you to unwind and to enjoy - with world-class hotels, boutiques and with a large selection of gourmet restaurants.

Davos also developed into a city for international meetings and conferences, first and foremost the annual World Economic Forum (WEF), as well as a large number of other conferences and events.
